Gabon's opposition pay tribute to post election violence victims

Gabon’s main opposition party has paid tribute to victims of post election violence in their party headquarters in Libreville.

The occasion was graced by the main opposition leader Jean Ping.

The exact number of victims dead after the clashes is still unkown with both parties issuing conflicting figures.

The African Union on the other hand has maintained it will dispatch a delegation to resolve the the political crisis in Gabon.

Supporters of Jean Ping in Libreville have vowed to continue their struggle for justice.

“This is not because they are dead that we must surrender. We must continue the fight and it must go until the end.

“The struggle continues and we will go till the end as it was said by President Ping. We have no firearms but we will not bow under pressure.”

Meanwhile, the opposition have moved to the country’s constitutional court to petition the election results that gave Ali Bongo another term. The case will be heard on Thursday afternoon.
